New states are welcome to join NCI-IDD at any time. At the beginning of each state fiscal year, NASDDDS issues a formal invitation for member states to join NCI-IDD (or to indicate continued participation) for the next survey cycle of data collection. Survey cycles run from July 1 to June 30 of the following calendar year.
